Art Activity Day 10am-4pm
Settle Community and Business Hub are delighted to have received an Awards for All lottery grant and this event at the Victoria Hall will be part of our Community Health and Arts Project. This will be a day of various free art and craft activities. Anyone is welcome to pop in and try something new.
We'll be in the main hall 10am until 4pm and will have several tables set up with art and craft activities like animation with Virpi Kettu, Chinese brush painting with Chris Newson, a chance to make your own fused glass coasters and light catchers, rock painting, card making and more.
Tea and cake will be available in the cafe run by Friends of Victoria Hall.
We are delighted that Virpi from Kettu Studios will be joining us to do two animation sessions 10am-12 noon or 1-3pm and she would like people to bring some photos or magazine pictures to turn into a sort of Monty Python style animated film like the one in this link.
There are only 6 places available for each of the animation sessions - one 10am til 12 noon and another 1pm til 3pm. Please contact Jo on hub@settlecommunityandbusinesshub.org.uk or 07977 040329 to book your animation place and bring some pictures with you. We will have some magazines and a copier available but if you have an idea for your animated story that will help.
Chris Newson will be doing a range of different Chinese water colour activities through the day and approximate timings and activities will be...
10-11.30 Painting plum blossom and calligraphy on 4 different papers and a fan,
12-1.30 Painting on a fabric and metal lampshade
2- 3.30 Bamboo painting on 5 different papers with 4 different brushes.
3.30-4 opportunity to cut and mount practice items on cards/ backing card/ in small frames.(items provided)
No need to book for these sessions as there should be plenty of space.
All other activities will be on a drop-in basis so just come and join us and have a go at something new.
