Just Fair Laughs presents a night of the very best of UK standup, with Karen Bailey, Rob Rouse, and MC Tony Vino.

Karen Bailey

Karen Bayley is a midlands based act hailing from Birmingham. Karen has been on the circuit for over a decade. She made a name for herself early on in her career reaching the semi-final of the prestigious BBC New Comedy Awards and was later crowned the winner of the 2001 Komedia New Act prize, Karen Bayley followed by becoming the first ever female winner of the prestigious Comedy Store King Gong award as well as reaching the finals of both the BBC New Comedy Awards Showcase and Babycham Funny Women.

Delightfully saucy, her friendly and confident stage presence, combined with a killer wit, an infectious giggle and some devastating one-liners make her a comedic force to be reckoned with a warm and welcoming with a delightfully saucy and spiky edge, her bold, no nonsense attitude strikes a perfect pitch with men and women alike.

Karen can be seen performing at all the established clubs and bookers across the UK and has recently been supporting Joe Lycett on his 2016 tour. Karen also appeared in the Aviva Goth Advert Campaign

“Bayley’s material surprises with inspired and sparkling punchlines…with comic timing that is rarely less than brilliant. An assured performer who doesn’t have much trouble getting audiences laughing.” - Chortle

“I saw her recently and she blew my socks off. She doesn’t dwell too much on “lady issues”. Funny in her own right, she was brilliant, clever and she’s gonna be huge.” BBC Online.

“Likeable headstrong persona- packing a considerable performing punch.” The List

“the night’s star attraction” Tamworth Herald

“Karen is one of the most consistently hilarious comedians I have had the pleasure of working with . She’s a sharp writer and an unflappable compère, able to cajole any room with her warm audience interaction and precise intelligent gags, ” Joe Lycett

Rob Rouse

Rob Rouse’s ‘Bottom’ received a warm welcome with viewers and critics alike on Elton’s keenly anticipated ‘Upstart Crow’ which first aired in the spring of 2016 and was voted ‘Best new sitcom’ on the British Comedy Guide.

One of comedy’s most lively, loveable and dynamic performers, Rob won Channel 4’s Prestigious So You Think You’re Funny competition at the Edinburgh Festival in way back in 1998. He’s one of our best comic storytellers, has performed all over the world and works long form narratives into hard-hitting, uncompromising hilarious tales filled with warmth and a sense of compassion for our collective human frailties.

The Ex-Geography teacher has been described critically as “A born clown”, those who really know him may lovingly use the word ‘idiot’. Either way, Rob takes this trademark comedic storytelling to a career high in this show, as he leads us on an irresistibly hilarious journey of enforced introspection and inspired rantings, it’s a real roller-coaster of a show in which he is forced to relinquish any attempts to control his life and to face down literally one of the most awkward situations you’re ever likely to hear about.

You may also recognise him from 8 out of 10 cats, Spoons, The Friday Night Project, Celebrity Juice, Dave’s One night stand, John Bishop’s Only Joking, Live at the Comedy store, maybe collecting one of his wife’s eBay purchases from your garage or perhaps seen him at one of his 8 Edinburgh fringe shows or 3 UK tours. So, come and see him do what he does best; honest, frank, seriously funny stand-up.

He’s a man with genuinely funny bones”  THE SUNDAY TIMES

“Rob Rouse is a born clown, a latter-day Stan Laurel” TIME OUT

“The tears of laughter came in floods… a sustained piece of observational storytelling which just peaked and peaked…  he is prepared to go to the bleakest and most uncomfortable places….the real reason is simply that he is a great storyteller, of the kind who is able to blur the boundaries between fact and fiction to get at the truths of life and death which lie behind their tale.” THE SCOTSMAN

‘Every single one of these everyday observations and shared recognitions is blown out of the mainstream by his electric-shock treatment of the material…You want to hug his brain for coming up with this stuff, even as you want to wash his mouth out with soap for saying it.’ THE HERALD

Tony Vino as MC

Preston’s very own funnyman. Tony Vino (**** The Scotsman) has been touring the comedy scene since early 2005. Well aware of social and political issues, he mixes friendly well thought out observational humour with audience interaction and quick witted responses. A finalist in 2006 Funny Bones competition, Tony has enjoyed recognition as a comedian and comedy compere of renown. His life and interests are wide ranging and so is the subject matter he weaves together on stage.

“A Great Show the assured Tony Vino copes with a mixed audience really well” Kate Copstic, The Scotsman

“Uplifting style, great delivery and consistently funny throughout” BBC Manchester

“Tony is very funny, a class act and always comes up with the goods” Darren Goddard, Greenbelt Festival Events
