A delicious mix of music from ‘Britain’s leading hot-fingered mandolin virtuoso’, guitarist and fiddler Simon Mayor, and ‘one of Britain’s finest voices’, Hilary James, make a welcome return to the Victoria Hall. Following a deluge of audience requests, Simon’s poems and humorous anecdotes have at last made it into print. His new book, ‘Of Death and a Banana Skin’ features Hilary’s animated drawings and is the basis for tonight’s pre-concert film inspired in part by the Yorkshire Dales...plus a few of Simon’s comic ditties of course!
“A whole stream of mirthful anecdotes, blurry-fingered precision and sweetly sung blues, standards and folk songs”
