DOLLY PARTON - THE RAGS TO RHINESTONES STORY

The Musical Journey from the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee to The Pyramid Stage of Glastonbury

With Special Guest Star ‘The Rhinestone Cowboy’ – Glen Campbell

This acclaimed two-hour show quite simply redefines the word crowdpleaser. Performed by Julia Martin and Ian Houghton, this production pays tribute to the musical journey of the queen of country music 'Dolly Parton', accompanied by the legendary Rhinestone Cowboy, Glen Campbell.

With vocals direct from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Tennessee, mannerisms that are 'Pure Dolly' and a stage presence that commands the room, Julia weaves her magic and delivers a show that makes you feel that Dolly herself is actually in the theatre. This foot stomping, hand clapping production, captures the audience from start to finish, combining classic hit songs, unique one-liners, and sensational duets, into a spectacular sound, light and visual theatre performance. With the help of Glen Campbell, this show brings-to-life the inspirational story of Dolly Rebecca Parton, and takes the audience from Dolly’s humble beginnings in Locust Ridge, Tennessee, to the superstar that she is today.

If you missed Dolly’s epic sublime concert from the pyramid stage of Glastonbury, then this is your chance to experience it. During part two of the show, Julia, wearing a replica white rhinestone studded trouser suit recaptures Dolly’s epic performance. Clap-along, sing-along, and dancing in the aisles is the order of the day, it is quite simply ‘Glastonbury Magic’, but without the mud.
