Giggleswick Railway Circle: John Hillier - 45596 and The Bahamas Locomotive Society

  • Settle Victoria Hall 24 Kirkgate Settle, England, BD24 9DZ United Kingdom (map)

John has been involved for many years with the Bahamas Locomotive Society supporting the restoration and operation of steam locomotive, 45596 Bahamas. After an exacting overhaul, the locomotive earlier this year, faultlessly, hauled 2 sell-out trains over the Settle to Carlisle line. This promises to be a fascinating evening where we will hear about the history of the society and the history of the locomotive.

Giggleswick Railway Circle (GRC) is a voluntary group that holds regular meetings for anyone interested in railways.

So, if are you interested in….

·         Past, present and future railway operations

·         Locomotives and rolling stock

·         Railway buildings, track and signalling

·         Railway photography

·         A history of railway lines and their communities

… then come along to our meetings.

Normally our meetings are held at 19.30 on the 4th Wednesday monthly, but please check the diary before travelling.

GRC is not a club; all are welcome to the meetings, and there is no subscription or membership needed. Refreshments are included in the admission charge.
