Hot-foot from playing Wembley Arena with The BBC Concert Orchestra, and in the wake of his recent release Carolan (fantasias on themes by Ireland’s national treasure and father of Irish folk music, Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738)), Simon celebrates Carolan’s music and much more in an evening of warmth, wit, much banter, and exceptional musicianship.
He leads an illustrious cast of virtuoso musicians including French born cellist Florence Petit, long-time partner Hilary James (vocals, mandobass), ukulele maestro and multi-instrumentalist Elias Sibley and, taking a break from playing many West End shows, fellow mandolinist and three-time UK banjo champion Richard Collins.
