The 4 of Us and Smith and Brewer

  • Settle Victoria Hall 24 Kirkgate Settle, England, BD24 9DZ United Kingdom (map)

2 Duos, 2 new albums, 1 evening of outstanding entertainment.

Having both been asked to support Fairport Convention on tour in recent years and on the back of that landing further work supporting Robert Plant’s ‘Saving Grace’ and Jools Holland, 10cc, and Ralph McTell, The 4 of Us and Smith & Brewer continue to captivate audiences with their crafted song writing and honed musicianship. Both Acts have new albums recently released to high acclaim. It’s a pleasure to welcome them back to Victoria Hall.

Smith & Brewer

Ben Smith and Jimmy Brewer originally met at an event organised by Joan Armatrading for the acts she had chosen to support her on her 2015 tour.

Although they originally planned to just write together, they soon realised that their different guitar playing styles and voices complemented each other and they started performing together regularly after their inaugural gig supporting Joan Armatrading in front of a thousand-strong crowd. Since then Smith And Brewer have played together all over the UK, toured with 10cc, Ralph McTell, Jools Holland, and Fairport Convention, and have played hundreds of shows together.

“There's a timelessness to the neatly crafted songs that display their musical interplay and superb harmony vocals.” R2 Magazine

The 4 Of Us

THE 4 OF US are one of the most acclaimed bands in Ireland, having been a steadfast part of Irish music history for over 30 years.

Blending contemporary roots with rock, the award-winning band was formed by brothers Brendan and Declan Murphy from the border town of Newry in Northern Ireland. Their truly unique sound has garnered a large and loyal fanbase and an enviable catalogue of timeless songs, including six Top 20 Irish charting albums and several hit singles. Regulars on Irish radio playlists, their music has also been featured extensively on American, UK, and Irish TV soundtracks.

THE 4 OF US shot to early fame towards the end of 1989 with their debut Songs for the Tempted, which featured the massive hits Mary and Drag My Bad Name Down. The follow- up Man Alive made Q magazine's prestigious Top 50 Albums of 1992 and included the UK Top 30 song She Hits Me. Touring recently as Special Guests for Folk-Rock legends Fairport Convention, and Robert Plant’s Saving Grace, The 4 of Us have gathered new fans across the UK and beyond.

“Intricate arrangements, skilful lyric writing, and as we have come to expect from The 4 Of Us, their songs are imbued with considerable melodic flair. Excellent.” HOT PRESS Magazine

Tickets £21.50

  • Most of our shows use ‘cabaret-style’ seating. This means that your seats will be unreserved, which allows you to decide where to sit when you arrive.

The stalls (downstairs) are set up informally, with chairs around small tables, for a sociable, relaxed atmosphere, and somewhere to put your drink. Cabaret seating also allows space for dancing, which is highly encouraged at Victoria Hall!

For those who prefer a more ‘traditional’ theatre experience, the balcony seats are laid out in rows and raked, ensuring all seats have an excellent view.

For parties of six or more, tables in the stalls can be reserved- contact us to reserve a table. If you have reserved a table, we ask that at least one of your party turn up at least 30 minutes before the performance start time, in order to secure your table.

We can always reserve seating or wheelchair spaces in the stalls for those unable to use the stairs- just let us know when you book your tickets.
